Our story
Objects that anchor a space without requiring explanation
ALUXAN began with a question: what if a brand offered just one object?
Not a collection. Not a line. A single piece, chosen with such conviction that nothing else was needed. That question produced the paperweight, and the paperweight taught us the question was slightly wrong.
So we moved the discipline one level up. We choose the workshop, and offer the handful of things that workshop makes better than anyone else. 4 workshops. 12 objects. That is the whole company.
Where it is made
Four regions where the craft is measured in centuries
What we hold to
The workshop, not the product
We choose the maker exhaustively, then offer only what that maker does better than anyone. The discipline was never about the number of objects. It was about the number of decisions taken carelessly.
The marks stay
Casting leaves grain, small pits, an unevenness that catches light differently at either end of a face. Most makers grind these off, because a smooth surface photographs like a machine made it. We leave them.
Cast when ordered
Nothing sits in a warehouse. Each piece is poured after it is bought, which takes four to six weeks, and we think the wait is part of what you are buying.
No advertising
No campaigns, no cadence, no paid placement. The objects find their owners through word of mouth and shared taste, or they do not find them at all.
